Lot of rain this Spring and lots of bugs....the octenol cartridges really help to attract them into the mosquito mag.

Our home is surrounded by woods; for years, the deck was unusable from dusk on, unless you fogged an hour earlier (and who wants to breath that stuff?). The Mosquito Magnet has solved the problem; ours is three seasons old, with no problems. Interestingly, this was not a bad year for mosquitos, but the unit works just as well for no-seeums, capturing literally hundreds of them. A propane tank and an attractrant cartridge each last about three weeks; when the propane runs out, I know it is time to replace the cartridge. I figure that for about $100 a seummer, we can have a deck to enjoy. It really is a teriffic product.

I used this product in a Dynatrap Insect Elimanator and all I caught in the trap were a lot of moths.

BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING THIS ITEM. I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT TYPE OF MOSQUITO ATTRACTANT IS USED FOR THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE US BUT IT IS NOT OCTENOL. AS STATED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE MOSQUITO MAGNET.. OCTENOL IS FOR THE NORTHERN STATES AND THERE IS ANOTHER PRODUCT FOR THE SOUTHERN STATES. I PURCHASED BOTH THE MOSQUITO MAGNET AND THE 3-PACK AND NOT VERY IMPRESSED IN THE RESULTS. MAYBE 100 MOSQUITOS IN 1 MONTH WITH 2 COMPLETE PROPANE TANKS. GIVEN THAT I PAID $250.00 FOR THE MAGNET AND ANOTHER $25.00 FOR THE ATTRACTANT AND ANOTHER $40.00 FOR PROPANE.. YOU CAN SEE THAT IT IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE FOR ONLY 100 MOSQUITOS. I AM SURE THAT THE MACHINE WORKS GREAT IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS BUT I AM VERY UPSET THAT AMAZON.COM WILL NOT TAKE THE MACHINE BACK DUE TO THE PROPANE USE. THIS IS NOT MENTIONED ANYWERE IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION THAT THE UNIT IS NOT RETURNABLE. GOOD LUCK

Great that Amazon has it as none of the stores in our area carry it and it is the only attractant for our type of Mosquito Magnet. It is the same as the product that came with the Mosquito Magnet.
